Parse Error when Installing StatusNet

I successfully installed StatusNet (nee: Laconica) this morning to my Web server, but in doing so I came across an issue that appears undocumented.
The StatusNet install is simple and straightforward. You UL the relevant files to your server and then visit the install path in your browser. StatusNet asks you to fill in several basic [...]

Update (Tech, not Life)

I have made slow progress on evolving my site, but the results are now becoming visible so a post is appropriate. The jasonkoepke.com part of the site has been PHP-ified, allowing me more flexibility and fun. This was a setup to display RSS feeds on the home page, which will give that page some content [...]

In college, I worked with a guy named Dave Gibson and we recorded about ten tracks. I have no idea what happened to Dave, but I still have–and like–the music we made. I created an entry in my Projects page and a site where you can download the ten songs. He did all the vocals [...]

I have posted the PowerPoint file Nils Ringe and I presented in New Orleans at the 2007 Southern Political Science Association conference. The presentation–titled Refining and Redefining the Second-Order Election Model: Protest or Pure Preference Voting in Central and Eastern Europe–may be difficult to follow, especially if you are not familiar with the second-order election [...]

EP-EE Paper To Be Published

An article I have written with Nils Ringe has been accepted and will be published in European Union Politics‘ September 2006 issue. We will present this paper in Atlanta, Ga., for the 2006 SPSA conference and incorporating any changes (limiting them to extremely small changes, however) before the final draft of the manuscript is due [...]
