Me At My Music Snobbiest

This week, I saw two incredible shows: Preservation Hall Jazz Band at The Barns at Wolftrap and Gil Scott-Heron at 930 Club. The weird part of these shows is that I did not see any of you there (Note: HD was at PHJB and out of town for the second show). I think everything is [...]

MIA In DC: RIP

First, the Washington City Paper steals my idea, then they cite me but point people to a site I haven’t updated since early April.
And yes, I know they got the idea for the posts from me because I exchanged e-mails with them and was a contributor for two weeks.
Now that we have ‘established’ media covering [...]

MIA In DC

After a hiatus, MIA In DC is back with some very sad news. Here’s who lacks the backbone to play in DC:

Smashing Pumpkins, [...]

Last, Albert Hammond Jr. of The Strokes is skipping town, [...]

MIA In DC

The Knife is skipping our fair city, although there’s a solid chance I’ll be checking them out at CMJ Music Marathon.
And given how full of himself the lead singer is, maybe we should be thankful CYHSY is skipping DC.
And Daedelus is playing Europe, flying over the East Coast, and heading out West. Boo.

Bands MIA In DC: Soulwax

Soulwax isn’t bothering to hit the West’s capital on their latest tour. Too bad for them. There is, however, a Soulwax event at Rock ‘n’ Roll Hotel tonight, though. These guys are the only ones who could ever rock the mashup, and they still do. Maybe they should stop, because they’re encouraging others to keep [...]

Bands MIA In DC? (continued)

I completely forgot about this thread. Here’s one more band skipping the central hub of the war on terror:

New Category: MIA In DC

I have added a new category “MIA In DC” to tag all the posts highlighting how bands aren’t showing DC love. I had forgotten about this group until I came across a band I’d love to see isn’t coming to DC. You’ll have to wait until Tuesday to find out which band I’m talking about.
